Sundown, a new light work, will be on view at @freshpaintartfair this weekend as part of the Artist Greenhouse exhibition!

Sundown is another experiment in abstraction and impression using diffused light on canvas. With Sundown, I tried to distill the experience of viewing the sun as it falls beyond the horizon - the shifting color grades, the focal bright center, and the feeling of vastness.

As the slow video is diffused on the frame's stretched canvas it blurs details of location and particular scenery, instead drawing attention to the color quality and intensity of this natural spectacle and the experience of viewing it.

Burst is light sculpture made of dichroic rods of light that erupt from the wall in all directions. As the dichroic light changes it's color, the varying directions of the rods create a hyper-subjective experience between the work and the viewer.
